Lost?
by timechick on Jun.28, 2010, under Science Fiction
Ok, so I admit that I’m the last person on the planet to have seen any of Lost. Well, I’m in episode 2 and I don’t know if I really feel anything for these characters and the invisible monsters that are chasing them. Most the characters are pretty clueless and I’m just waiting for them to be eaten by a polar bear in the jungle one by one. Should I give it a chance?
New ecologically dangerous species found in Texas
by timechick on Apr.01, 2010, under Blog, Science Fiction
There have been reports that this bird has been sighted in Texas. It’s a voracious predator of just about any living creature it can get its teeth around. If you see one, be sure and report it to the nearest local game warden.
Conjour II was a lot of fun, people showed up!

I have done a little posting on my facebook account with pictures, but I haven’t had time to put anything here. The con was much better organized this year and they exceeded their last year attendance on Friday within the first few hours of opening from what the con com there told me. That was very encouraging news. They had many more panels, several guests this time and a lot more people. (continue reading…)
Looks like the ApolloCon Steampunk Ball may be in the works
by timechick on Oct.17, 2009, under Conventions, LARP, Science Fiction
I had a very good meeting with the con chair today and she liked my proposal for a Steampunk ball. It will have a few modifications but in essence, looks like it will happen. We are still working out the details, but I can say it will not be pay to play, but if you want food, it will be bit pricey. I am hoping to keep the price to below $40 a plate. But I would need a good attendance to achieve that.
What am I up to now…

Why is it that everyone wants to schedule their stuff at the end of July? Sail training started a week ago. I am giving it a miss, but I really miss it. The people are a lot of fun and I really miss them. (continue reading…)

Room parties are almost as big at SF cons as are the regular events. I took this video walking around on the party floor at around 1 am or so. Clickie —>

Work’s been hectic. Just so you know, my supervisor has been stressed, and as a result, I’ve been stressed. I am hoping relaxing this weekend will help. (continue reading…)

ApolloCon starts today. I’m getting ready by working on printing out a few characters for the game I have scheduled on Saturday. I hope to leave in a few hours. It’s completely across town, so I am staying at the hotel. I am allowing the Space City Time Lords to use my room for a party room Friday and Saturday nights. I just hope I can get some sleep sometime. It’s a con, I should just give up on the consept.
Busy week ahead

Fortunately most the ApolloCon movie stuff is done. We’ve got the schedule done, most the staff set up and ready to go, and the flyers are all up on the website. (continue reading…)
