Conjour II was a lot of fun, people showed up!
by timechick on Feb.03, 2010, under Conventions, LARP, Science Fiction, games
I have done a little posting on my facebook account with pictures, but I haven’t had time to put anything here. The con was much better organized this year and they exceeded their last year attendance on Friday within the first few hours of opening from what the con com there told me. That was very encouraging news. They had many more panels, several guests this time and a lot more people. (continue reading…)
Looks like the ApolloCon Steampunk Ball may be in the works
by timechick on Oct.17, 2009, under Conventions, LARP, Science Fiction
I had a very good meeting with the con chair today and she liked my proposal for a Steampunk ball. It will have a few modifications but in essence, looks like it will happen. We are still working out the details, but I can say it will not be pay to play, but if you want food, it will be bit pricey. I am hoping to keep the price to below $40 a plate. But I would need a good attendance to achieve that.
What am I up to now…
by timechick on Jul.26, 2009, under Conventions, LARP, Other stuff
Why is it that everyone wants to schedule their stuff at the end of July? Sail training started a week ago. I am giving it a miss, but I really miss it. The people are a lot of fun and I really miss them. (continue reading…)
More fireworks video
by timechick on Jul.06, 2009, under LARP, Other stuff
I’ve finished messing with all those little clips and Youtube has finished uploading and converting and doing whatever else it does to make them all flash video. It’s about half an hour of video, but it’s really all fireworks all the time. Enjoy!
And… here they are: (Behind the cut)

Room parties are almost as big at SF cons as are the regular events. I took this video walking around on the party floor at around 1 am or so. Clickie —>

Con-jour?
by timechick on Feb.02, 2009, under Conventions, LARP, Other stuff, RPG's, games
Well, it was a first time con. I got there Friday night and had a hard time finding people at all. Most were people I had met at previous Houston area conventions, the usual suspects so to speak. The people running the convention are of the mind that they didn’t do their advertising. I tend to agree that may be part of it, the other part I think that may be a large part of this problem may be attributed to the fact that Owlcon has been scheduled for the week after and most people I know were planning to go to that one. Happy Fall Equinox
by timechick on Sep.22, 2008, under LARP, My old Live Journal blog archive
The celts didn’t celebrate the Equinoxes as far as I know. However, I have a reason to celebrate the Fall Equinox. It was on September 23, 1998, 10 years ago tomorrow, at Olympiad, hosted by our kingdom of the Wetlands that I was knighted in the order of the Flame. If you are an Amtgarder, you would know what I am talking about. It is note worthing thing for me. I keep wanting to celebrate, but with all this hurricane stuff going on, it got put to the back burner.
