I just downloaded this chess program called Kasparov Chess by Glu Mobile.  First of all, it looks great.  Pretty easy to play and do things and it works on my phone and seeing my phone to be pretty old and low end, I think it will probably work on most new cool smart phones.  The Chess AI absolutely cleans my clock in brutal ways most chess ai’s never have been able to do in such short order.  But then again, I never was a very very good chess player.  But there is heart in this, it has an online mode where you can play people out there in the dark pathways of the intertubes over the phone networks.  My only issues are, you can’t delete old games off your online game list.  And two, no one seems to be around to play chess with.

I used to love to play chess. When I was a kid I played all the time with my sister and my dad on occasion. When I got older however, that changed when I had a boyfriend who was a big chess player. He was nearly at master level in it to. Rated and everything. He turned out to be a real sexist ass hole. He probably is why I have a difficult time right now enjoying a good game any more. And I want to enjoy it, I really do. However, it seems when I start a game and start getting into it, my heart starts to race and I start feeling anxious, like I am trying to perform. This has for years turned me off the game. Day before yesterday, I found a brand new never been opened chess set next to the dumpster and took it in. It was a wonderful crystal set. I set it up on the coffee table right before I had to leave for a meeting, promising my roommate that I would play him a game after I got home yesterday. So yesterday we go to play and sure enough, back comes that anxiety. I am just going to have to get through this and get over that anxiety.
