Just a short note. I am riding home and took this out the bus window. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!
It looks like my coffee drinking days are over …

At least for now. My stomach can’t handle it. I discovered some of the problems I had were actually symptoms of a possible ulcer or other stomach problem. And most started with the introduction of coffee. On the plus side, I’m off the caffeine addiction and I’m feeling hugely better. I’m currently drinking chicory right now and I’ve come to like it. Odd as that may seem. I’m glad I made that large order, it’s hard to find chicory that’s not mixed with some coffee these days.
Save KTRU

I heard this morning on NPR that KUHF is buying KTRU’s frequency to broadcast classical music 24/7. My problem with this is that I really like KTRU, and there is no other independent eclectic student run stations here in Houston. The students were never asked what they thought of this and the whole thing is being done without any regards to the student body’s opinion. They have a website up about saving the station and I have a link to the KUHF story below.

This wasn’t even the largest of my coworker’s harvest this week. We’ve had a lot of rain and warm days and her plant has had a lot of opportunity to grow.
A time portal to Houston 1866 …
by timechick on Jul.15, 2010, under Other stuff
I read a lot of blogs, especially history blogs here in Houston. I don’t remember which one I found the reference for this from but I did download it from the library. This is a Houston City Directory published in 1866, a year after the war finally ended. The ads are fun enough of a read, but the most interesting part is the account of the first 30 years or so of Houston from its founding in 1836 to the then present day in 1866.

Plato seriously influenced my thinking as a kid. I was a very very geeky kid.
