Chaosbutterfly

With the wind as bad as it is today, I am not surprised either.  And… I am sure it is as I speak, the wind is blowing as much water out of the bay as it possibly can.  It was already a pain this morning to get off my own boat.  I over slept this morning, my alarm didn’t go off for whatever reason.  My whole day has been like that.  I didn’t get in to work until after 9.

Talk about perfect weather.  Last Thursday we had our make ready for the Coast Guard inspection, which didn’t happen until Friday.  (continue reading…)

A few of my friends on the crew and a couple from the Railroad Museum filmed a PBS special about immigration to Galveston.  These were taken a few weeks after Ike.  One of my friends finally got around to posting his pictures on line.  You can see them here!

Today was it.  Our last training day at the ship and oh godz, it was the longest.  It has been raining all day and cold and just enough wind to make things out right miserable. (continue reading…)
