Ok now this is the wettist April on record

Enough already.

The lightning last night was nothing short of spectacular.  Great veins of it streaking across the sky as I was driving home last night.  One struck a light pole on the side of the road as I was driving and all the light poles went out suddenly like an aura of darkness hit the whole street for a moment.

As a result,  I was reluctant to come in to work today.  It was flooding on the west side of Houston, so I figured I wouldn’t have a good enough excuse to skip out on work.  Here I am.  I just hope I can still get home.

I really think the city could save a lot of money if we adopted a telecommuting policy.  I really think most my job could be accomplished on the computer and phone with me just coming in twice a week to pick up stuff and drop stuff off.  Bosses seem to have an emotional attachment to visually seeing warm bodies at desks to feel that they are doing work.  But there are electronic ways to confirm that and it would save a lot on gas and sick leave if we could work from home.
