This morning, I figured out why I hadn’t been bouncing since around 3am. The water level has dropped around 6 feet or more and now I really am sitting on the muddy bottom of the marina. I think the stern was being lifted a little by the lines, so this afternoon I loosened them. Funny that…
The Elissa also had her stern in about a foot of mud this morning. The Captain looked a little disappointed since he and his mates flew in for the shakedown sail this morning. We postponed the sail to this afternoon and while we all waited, they hauled her out of the mud about 10 feet forward and got her floating again. We were then able to take off but unfortunately, we got about half way through the channel when we found out that the wind was blowing around 40kts out the end of the channel. They won’t let us out if the wind is over 25 so we turned around and went back to the dock.
